DIAMOND DUCHESS shaped well at Newmarket last time and promised to be suited by the extra 2f here, and the easier ground. The good pace played into her hands and she came home strongly. Unexposed over middle distances, there could be more to come from her, but she does look the type that needs the race set up for her.

Diamond Duchess is probably the one to take outof the race. She appeared not to face the first-time blinkers upon leaving the stalls, missing the kick alongside Consider Yourself.
At the business end of the race, Diamond Duchess encountered a less than straightforward passage but when the splits came late on she burst through weakening horses. Assuming she is happy in the headgear next time she would have leading claims, especially if there is some ease in the ground. |

Diamond Duchess stayed on from the middle of the field to snatch a remote third, but probably needs to drop a few pounds.

The consistent Diamond Duchess helps to give the form further solidity and she again ran her race, sticking on well having raced close to the pace throughout. On the downside, she is vulnerable to improvers so eis going to be vulnerable in this sort of company.

Diamond Duchess didn´t enjoy the clearest of runs around 2f out but she was in the open for long enough. This was a respectable effort in defeat.

Diamond Duchess hit a flat spot soon after halfway and then went right when trying to stay on again. Some heavy rain before racing may not have helped.

DIAMOND DUCHESS, stepping up in trip again, sat close to the pace and kept on much straighter than most of her rivals to gain her first victory. A half-sister to winners, she holds entries in a couple of sales races at the end of the season, so one would imagine that she will be aimed towards one of those events.

Diamond Duchess fully confirmed the promise shown on her debut over this longer trip. She is open to further improvement and she should be able to pick up a minor event in due course. |

Diamond Duchess, an 80,000euros foal but a 34,000gns yearling, is a half sister to five winners. Tucked in from the outside stall, she was brought to hold every chance over a furlong from home before lack of a previous outing took its toll, but she still fared best of the newcomers. The stable´s youngsters usually come on for a run and a couple of her siblings stayed very well, so she should improve with experience and a longer trip.
