Wannabe King set for Dubai campaign

DAVID Lanigan has outlined that Wannabe King will head to the Dubai International Racing Carnival next spring.

Saif Ali and Saeed H Altayer’s colt won three on the bounce this season before running respectably in the Cambridgeshire handicap at Newmarket .

The son og King's Best has a rating of 103 and would have a number of options at the meeting, either on the turf or the dirt.

Lanigan confirmed: “I plan to send Wannabe King to Dubai in February to race at Meydan. The new track facilities and huge prize money on offer has to be taken advantage of.

“He has been a great servant to the yard this season winning three and finishing off with a rating of 103, and hopefully he will be able to do us proud in Dubai.

“It is a great thing to be aiming to do after only our second season but I am a firm believer that you have to be seen to run horses abroad if they are capable of doing so.

“Wannabe King can race on either turf or dirt over 1800m and there should be plenty of options for him. There is a race on February 5 which could be a possibility.”
