No stopping Cape Marien
8th October 2009
CAPE MARIEN recorded her third victory of the campaign in a 1m4f handicap at Kempton yesterday evening.
The daughter of Cape Cross, whose previous wins came at Windsor and Wolverhampton, had to overcome a slow start but ended up landing the spoils in decisive fashion.
Jockey Ted Durcan rousted her along in the early stages in order to gain a prominent position just off the leaders.
He was able to get a good split around the inside bend and Cape Marien quickened up well to forge clear and win by two lengths.
