Wannabe a winner again
20th August 2009
THE majestic form of the Revida Place team shows no signs of stopping with Wannabe King providing the yard with its latest winner.
The son of King's Best was on target 11 days ago at Windsor and connections chose wisely in opting to run him back under a 6lb penalty.
He registered his third career success by taking a 1m handicap at Epsom tonight as trainer David Lanigan recorded his seventh winner from his last 17 runners.
It wasn't all plain sailing as, after travelling on the inner rail in behind the leaders, jockey Ted Durcan was forced to sit and suffer aboard the 100/30 shot.
But the split finally came entering the final furlong and Durcan pounced, setting alight Wannabe King who responded well.
He was switched right and wore down Emirates Roadshow close to the line and had half a length in hand by the time the post came.
