The Last Don scores at Kempton
2nd July 2009
THE LAST DON continued trainer David Lanigan’s excellent form when landing a 1m4f handicap at Kempton this evening.
The son of Redback was making his handicap debut last night and showed a game attitude to win at odds of 7-1.
Jockey Ted Durcan settled his mount towards the rear but always looked to be travelling smoothly.
Along the back straight Durcan moved up a few places before kicking for home 3f out.
His colt quickened up well to strike the front 1f from the finish and stayed on gamely to repel the late challenge of Incendo by half a length.
The Lanigan team are clearly in great-nick with four of their five runners this week winning or making the frame.
