Say No Now is impressive Nottingham winner
8th May 2009
SAY No Now gave a most accomplished display as she broke her maiden in good style at Nottingham this afternoon.
The Refuse To Bend filly showed decent form at two, finishing third on her debut and then second – ahead of subsequent 1000 Guineas winner Ghanaati – at Kempton.
Her seasonal reappearance could hardly have gone any better today as she travelled like a dream in the mile maiden before settling the matter in a convincing manner, barely needing to come off the bridle.
Jockey Ted Durcan had previously had her tracking the early speed and the way she came there hard held to take it up at the two-pole was impressive.
The even money favourite simply needed to be kept up to her work in the closing strides as she scored by three lengths without being fully tested.
