Facilities

Visit Kingsdown Stables and you will swiftly realise it is a very special place. Not only is it a yard that is a proven base for sending out winners over decades, but it has a charm and atmosphere that trigger a good-to-be-alive sensation.

Based in the heart of Lambourn, one of British racing’s traditional training capitals, the stunning yard is just a short walk from the world-class gallop facilities which are excellently maintained by Jockey Club Estates.

Along with the Jockey Club-owned gallops, Kingsdown itself also has 368 acres of prime downland with a variety of grass gallops and also two all-weather gallops. Both are built to racecourse specification and use a modern poly-track surface.

There is a beautifully built main yard with well-ventilated stables as well as two smaller yards, ideal for two-year-olds or fillies.

In addition to the spacious main yard, there is also a smart, more modern barn which is spacious and well-ventilated.

David has use of both and indoor and outdoor trotting ring.

There is also a horse walker and a new lunging pit, perfect for breaking in the yearlings.

In addition to state-of-the-art facilities, David also calls upon the services of outstanding vets and farriers to ensure the best possible care for the horses at Kingsdown.

O’Gorman, Slater and Main is one of the top equine practices in the country and vets Charlie Schreiber and Alastair Welch are an integral part of the team here.
