Facilities
After four successful years at Revida Place, David Lanigan took up residence at the historic Kingsdown Stables in Upper Lambourn.
Kingsdown Stables were originally built in 1937 by Lord Sefton. It has accommodated many great trainers such as Peter Nelson followed by his son Charlie, more recently Mick Channon and subsequently Jamie Osborne. Numerous top-class horses have been housed at the stables as well including the 1974 Derby winner Snow Knight and 1986 Champion two-year-old Minstrella.
Purchased in 2009 by Mr. Bjorn Nielsen, the stables and yard have been completely renovated. It offers some of the best facilities in the county including access to both the Jockey Club gallops as well as private gallops. In addition to the nearly 80 refurbished boxes, there is a newly resurfaced private indoor ride, horse walker, lunge pit and owner’s room to watch replays of your horses’ wins.
Kingsdown is located in beautiful Upper Lambourn, the Valley of the Racehorse as it is often referred to. The yard backs up to the Jockey Club gallops that have been heavily refurbished in recent years. Located less than an hour from London, we are just off of the M4. Lambourn also offers access to some of the country’s top equine veterinary practices, farriers and transport companies.
