Welcome to Revida Place
David Lanigan has recently launched his career as a public racehorse trainer. He is based at Revida Place in Newmarket, England.
Now 32 years of age, David has learned his trade from some of the most respected horsemen in the world.
David grew up on his parents' farm, Bob and Deirdre Lanigan's Tullamaine Castle Stud which has been amongst the leading commercial breeders in Europe for the past 20 years. His first introduction to training racehorses came when he spent his school holidays riding out for Vincent O'Brien in Ballydoyle, John Oxx and Edward O'Grady.
On completing a BSc (Hons) in Agricultue and Land Management at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester, David went to J.T.L Jones' Walmac International in Lexington, Kentucky. During his five years there he progressed from yearling sales preparation to working in the breeding shed, handling stallions such as Alleged, Nureyev and Miswaki. He then managed the breaking and training of Walmac's yearling and two-year-old division, based in Kentucky and Aiken, South Carolina. These horses were shipped to all the top American trainers including Todd Pletcher and D Wayne Lukas.
In November 2002 David assumed the position of Assistant Trainer to Henry Cecil and played an integral part in the success of Oaks winner Light Shift, Group 1 winning two-year-old Passage of Time, Multidimensional, Camacho and many other top-flight winners. During his time with Cecil he learned how to manage a top-class operation that employs a large number of staff and trains for some of the most prestigious owners and breeders in the world.
Learning from and being around some of the best minds in the thoroughbred business has taught David what to look for in a horse, how to manage top-class horses to ensure that they realise their full potential and how to communicate with owners. David has the knowledge and experience, and along with a young and professional team, he offers you the chance to achieve success at the top of English and International racing.
